Just a general thread to discuss tour results in 2024.

To begin with: Koolhof/Mektic defeat Haase/VDZ in Rotterdam. Great for Koolhof to win Rotterdam in his last year on tour.

Bhambri had a second serve on breakpoint for a double break. Salisbury had served like 5 or 6 double faults until then but Bhambri took a big swing and missed the return. From that point he got a bit tight, got broken in the next game and had to save double setpoint in the service game after that.

Third set Venus got broken at the start, who before that game was faultless on serve. Skupski was actually good for once, hit a lot of big forehands. Commentators were saying it was probably due to the slower conditions which gave him more time to go for his shots lol

Salisbury, the King of New York, and Skupski, the Overachiever.

I hope Granollers and Zeballos can turn this around but it doesn't look hopeful.

Very narrow escape for Granollers/Zeballos. They were the weaker team in the set but the stronger team in the breaker. Fantastic return from Zeballos to take it.

Into a third set we go!

Skupski receiving a time violation and then taking an extra break.

Pure karma there as Granollers produces an amazing return winner and now they get to serve for the match.

And that's it, Granollers/Zeballos are the USO 2025 doubles champions. 3-6 7-6(4) 7-5 is the final result. Congrats to the Spaniards, great second serve on MP.

At the start of the season it looked like Granollers might have to retire without ever winning a Slam. Now he has two Slam titles. And rightfully so.

Did Zeballos/Granollers did an Alcaraz and win a Slam by saving 3 consecutive Championship Points? :eek2: Surreal to see the Spanish-speaking pair being clutch seeing how many big finals they have lost before. They have now won 2 of the last 3 which does show winning these tournaments may need a bit of a push mentally. Can they be a #1 pairs some time next season?

Cabral/Miedler coming after the title in Hangzhou, managed to lose to a probably accidental partnership, Gonzalez/Pel, with an amazing 0/14 BP conversion. 3 more points won in total and lost in 2. :spit:

Wanna take the time to say great job to Romanian pair Jecan/Pavel, qualified in Lisbon CH final, their 3rd this year. Lost both previous ones 10-7 in super TB, hope this time they'll manage to win the title :cheer:
