Why not creating a specific thread for the Davis Cup? I dare to say that they won't lose in the first round.
The previous years we had a specific thread dedicated to the dc.

I thought about it too. And I also think your country will not lose in the first round.
Okay if you want, I will make a thread for DC. ;)

Dubai?? Andy is playing there too, skipping Memphis. I wish they wouldn't play there. Espceially Andy since the Memphis tourny supports St Jude Children's Hospital and he has a little cousin there. :sad

Haven't you ever heard about the under-the-table appearance money at the Dubai tournament? We're speaking about huge amounts of money...

Yes, I know about that. But it shouldn't be just about the money. What was Richard usually playing this week?

Usually he doesn't play anywhere during this week. The only ATP he played was Acapulco but before the breakthrough in 2004.

Re: \./\./ Before IW/Miami 2008!! \./\./

Very strong field in Marseille this year. It is very dense too, so big names will probably be knocked out from the first round.

The tournament in Marseille should be the most interesting "Mickey Mouse" event in 2008.

Dubai does not count. We all know why players choose to play there. Almost none of them tries his best as they prefer to save energy for the big ones in Miami and Indian Wells.

Re: \./\./ Before IW/Miami 2008!! \./\./

Richie would be a complete imbecile of first order if he took this tournament seriously.

Hope he is smart enough to go there and made a second round exit (just to get the appearance fees) and then travel straight to California to be best prepared for the tournaments that really do matter.

Why? There is plenty of points there and $$ too. It's almost like 10th Masters Event.

Hahaha. Half the points of Indian Wells and Miami.

And mainly is NOT a mandatory event. You should get my point.

As for the $$$, not everyone whores himself for money. :p

Well, it's more than half (300 vs 500 for wins :p )
And there will be 6-7 days to recover from Dubai and adjust to new conditions in Indian Wells (where 2nd round matches start on Sat or Sun, following week)

Let's just say if he reaches semis or finals there (or even wins) we probably won't complain too much right? :D
