I think he'll be top 8 for sure but what do you guys think of his chances of being top 5? We've definitely seen improvement from last season where he managed to finish just outside the top 10 despite missing two grandslams. I don't really see the Tsonga defeat as significant.

It's possible. I think he will finish 10-6 personally but with a little luck in draws and staying healthy 5 or 4 are possible. Certainly he has miniscule chances of getting close to the top 3, they are still a fair bit ahead in terms of consitency and mentality.

He has a great chance because he has no points to defend at the next 2 Slams. He has big points in IW and Miami, then zip until practically the USO.

Yes, he stands a reasonable chance. I'd say after the top 3 it's pretty open and probably 10-15 guys have a reasonable chance of making #4 or 5.

There's always a chance. He can certainly pass Roddick, Davydenko, Youzhny, Blake, Berdych and Nalbandian which would get him to 6. With no points to defend at a lot of big tournaments, this should be his true breakthrough year.

I think he will reach top5, but not yet this year. This 1st round loss in Melbourne really decreases his chances to become top5 at the end of the year.

To achieve this he will probably have to reach semifinals in Wimbledon and New York and play at least a groundsolid clay court season.

I'd like to see him be more constantly aggressive. His game is good enough but he seems to want to play 10 shots when he could finish the point off in 4. I think unless he does this he will struggle against the top players late on in slams and even masters.

He's done well to maintain such high ranking with big gaps in his schedule last year.

He will climb for sure in May/June/July when he picks up points where he has nothing to defend.

Australia was a one-off and it was no disgrace to lose to Tsonga. Hopefully after Davis Cup he will come back with a bang!
