Re: Have you a pair of minutes? English test

I don't want to insult but the thread title shows you aren't a native English speaker.

You can watch a explanation of why the algorithm made those guesses (in the question mark). Maybe the most interesting thing of the test.

English is too much formal sometimes. Fix'd anyway.

Not close linguisticlly. But Nordic countries are often said to have some of the best non-native English skills, so that may be in common with Finland and Scandinavian countries. Maybe that explains why you got Swedish and Norwegian. As well as Finns getting English first.

Indeed, that's my reasoning as well.

 I'm not a native English speaker, and I don't know any Portuguese and Norwegian. I think I skewed the results by living in the US  I hope my Translation Studies professor sees this result, since he bullied me by constantly telling me that my English is terrible.

From my personal internet experience, I can confirm that almost everybody, even teens from Scandinavian countries speak same or even better (more correct) English comparing to natives. I guess the reputation that these countries might have the best educational system at elementary and high school level is pretty much right.

Just wondering (or as Sweet Cleopatra calls it, spying) were you born in America, live in North Korea, born in North Korea, live in America?
