If we were to include Grand Slams, obviously it is a no-contest; but how do their resumes outside of the slams compare(not that it means anything with such a disparity in GS won but still..)?

Djokovic has: 22 Masters, 4 WTFs (and 11 500s and 6 250s)
Nadal has: 27 Masters, 1 Olympic Gold(and 15 500s and 8 250s)

If we ignore the 500 events and 250 events(as we really should), that's basically 5 Masters, 1 Olympic Gold vs 4 WTFs.

Trolling aside, Nadal outside slams its still better than Novak career-wise. No doubt about that.

That my change in the near future, but at the end the most important part of your career as a tennis players are slams.

Career titles are important, not just the top level tournaments.
On that score Nadal is still ahead of Novak for now.

Why ask a question with such an obvious answer? If we're just looking at number of non-GS titles won then clearly Nadal is ahead slightly. Although this will almost certainly change in Novak's favor over the coming years.

People should stop comparing.. Both are great players who will be remembered in 20,30 and 50 years more (same goes for Fed) the rest is basically not that relevant. Who will know about Giles Simon or Nicolas Almagro in 20 years more? only die-hard tennis fans..
