Genius move, not surprised at all! No point playing Paris if he can't gain any points there.

Would be hilarious if now a bunch of top players in Vienna decides to pull out of that event to focus on Paris since Novak won't be there haha

He really wants week 311.
He knows that, after all these years of hard work and after RG final loss, he is still 3 slams short of Federer and Federer is not going to handover any of his records to him. He needs to snatch it from Federer. He does not want to miss out on the opportunity at any cost.

There's something for Rafa to learn from it; he throws away too many chances.

VISOKO, Bosnia and Herzegovina: World number one Novak Djokovic said Thursday (Oct 15) he planned to play two more tournaments until the end of the season - in Vienna and London - and keep his top ATP ranking.
Guy Fraudget can’t get a break lol. Thiem needs to retaliate and skip Vienna; Paris win puts him past Nadal in the rankings.:ROFLMAO: Nadal could end up in Nole’s half's of the draw if the move completely backfires and Nadal easily could pull plug on world tour finals.

Well more reason for Nadal to play Bercy

Winning the Paris Masters has been a curse in recent times, so probably a wise move. Adria COVIDgate, PCB line judge incident, and that thrashing at RG are probably all linked to that.

Well that's the difference between a guy who plays and lives for his own personal growth and satisfaction and another one fixed only in comparing himself with others and getting outside recognition. Between a happy guy and a tormented one.

No amount of Bosnian pyramids and prayed water will make you happy and balanced if your satisfaction depends on what others do or have.

ATP sabotaged their tour by keeping points from last year.
Mate it's been a strange year, hence the strange points system.
Amd getting the YE#1 and equalling Sampras , plus passing the record is great.
But a record extending 9th AO is what it is all about from here, and what Nole should be totally focused on for the next 3 months.

Silly post IMO. All athletes have different things that drive them to be great. For some it is reaching for certain achievements or records and for some it can be as simple as just being self motivated.

Also we have no idea how much Nadal cares about things like having the most slams as he is typically pretty guarded about talking about things like that. Likely because he doesn't want to put extra pressure on himself.

Djokovic however seems to do very well with handling a lot of pressure and that is probably why he talks about things like breaking records because he feels like he will do better with that added pressure that he puts on himself.

Djokovic should be more relaxed. With the Covid ranking, he will get this record anyway. The decision to prefer Vienna to Paris just because of the rankings make him look silly once more.

Sure that's why he's always been plagued by bosnian pyramids, tree-huggin, water praying, magic eggs, universal hugs, respiratory apparatum throwing and all sorts of wacky endeavours trying to find the inner peace and balance he doesn't seem to find doing what he is best at.

Perhaps if he focused more on his own achievements instead of others'...

What's the problem with Novak getting his energy from nature?

It's natural for people to compare them selves to others. Literally everyone does it every day. And if you think Federer and Nadal do not think about chasing records, then you are deluded.

It's clear you have a huge bias against anything Djokovic does. I never got people hating on someone for things which don't affect them at all.
