Djokovic loses the match vs Thiem after having 4-1 lead in the tie break. It almost felt like a flashback of the old chokovic of 2007 where he had multiple set points against Federer in sets 1 and 2 in the US open final to lose the match. What do you guys think?

I doubt it's the first time he lost having had one match point!
Don't have the evidence, but it isn't like a giant choke

Thiem's offense was equal to and just a little better than Djok's defense

Refer to this thread:

Djokovic has wasted match points three times in his career, the most recent of which came against Cilic in the 2018 Queen's Final

He didn’t choke, just lost to the better player on the day.

Judging by form Zverev, Tsistpas and Thiem are strongest players in this WTF.

Djokovic will be difficult to win the whole thing.

It doesn't have to be match point for a choke - Thiem unquestionably choked at 6-5 00-00.

Losing 5 pts in a row from 1-4 was not a complete chjoke as Thiem really turned it on, but a couple service winners at the point would have prevented being called a chjoker, and also avoided the 4-1ovic barbs.

He didn't choke. He was too passive throughout a lot of the match and this left the door open for Thiem to take the match from him with clutch aggressive play. If Thiem had given him the errors he was hoping for he'd have won but Thiem said "not today!"
