I've seen many players, through tennis, but nothing quite like it. The guy plays such perfect and balanced tennis, definitely one of the most complete players. What he did today was mindboggling. He showed everyone that he is an remarkable attacking player. His gameplan was mastered perfectly.

Definitely the perfect tennis player. It is gonna be interesting to see where he is heading. Right now he has won 7 big events in a row and is the undisputed #1. His season so far is by far the most dominant in history of this sport.

Congratulations Novak. What you are doing is simply amazing and you deserve it. Congrats champ.

Too bad he had health issues before 2011 and had some ridiculous chokes in 2013. Otherwise we would only be talking about him and Roger as the two greatest players. Maybe Sampras too, but that's it. Borg shot himself in the foot by retiring so early.

TBH it was the first match of his that I saw this year when he was playing aggressive tennis and not grinding. Though a very impressive performance indeed.

Easy when you're at your peak, I am sure many have said the same before about Federer, Nadal, Sampras, Agassi, Safin, Hewitt etc.. and all the way back.

Have you seen his matches before this? His mindset is always to be aggressive.

Grinder is really not the right word and total disrespect of the player Djokovic actually is.

But nobody has done what he has the first half year in the season?

He is good but all this is for nothing if he does not win the French Open

LOL at including last two. Safin could play like greatest ever once in a blue moon, and when he did it was scary impressive. But he was a mental midget. And Hewitt had a peak couple of years as a defensive specialist of the highest order. But this thread also speaks to Novak's entire career and legacy. I'd agree about Fed/Nadal/Sampras and maybe Agassi for the mention of the 1990-and-later years.

I am just pointing out that when someone looks invincible or playing great Tennis, it is very easy to get carried away. Novak has had a phenomenal season thus far, but there is a long way to go and he's not been playing as well as he did in the Rome final all year. He is still vulnerable at certain points.

It's not for nothing. Have you lost it?
Yup. It is. Nole is never going to have a better shot at completing his career with a win at FO. Masters titles are great but they are not a major. AO was great. Now he needs to complete the job at FO and then go for Wimbledon and US Open. He is in his prime. He is not going to keep having years like this. win as many slams as possible in these years or he will regret it

So what if he doesn't win it ? He showed that he can play best tennis on clay also. He doesn't need that GS to prove anything, only as prestige.
