Is djokovic really playing Dubai or not?

Is website does not include the tournament in his schedule

534.000 €
IS
(Hard)
...
G. Simon (FRA)

18.02.2008.
ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament
(Rotterdam, Holland)
824.000 €
IS

10.03.2008.
Pacific Life Open

But Dubai's official website include him in the list of players.

So, how is it going to be?

Man, Djokovic IS and ISN'T starting the year well. He IS because he obviously started the year winning a slam, and he isn't because he is pushing his body too soon. He should really have avoided Marseille after the flu he got last week. Now he will have to go to Rotterdam having to reach at least semi-finals (which he will probably will). And then if he goes to Dubai and come back to Indian Wells, it will be a huge effort imo.

Not so sure about that especially in his current form.

As for Dubai - last year his official site did not include Bangkok in his schedule though his name was on the entry list on the Thailand Open official site. And Djoko did not play in Thailand Open. IMO he'll play Dubai and if he's got a contract with them he'll show up for sure.

It's probably wise for him to skip dubai. He has 850 points to defend at IW and Miami.

Right now, he's just lost his best chance at Number 2, and won't have another until after clay season is over.

I don't think he is chasing that 2nd position to come as soon as possible. If his goal is to become nr1, then his plan is probably to achieve that at the end of season. Not big difference if he will become nr2 in april or in july as a transition to his main goal, because he need wins against Roger and Nadal in semis or in finals anyway :)

We shall see. He has a window now from Wimbledon in July until January so 6 months to make his run.

From djokovic's website:

"Novak Djokovic will not participate in the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament 2008 next week. The Serbian number two of the entry-list is still suffering from the stomach virus that was already bothering him in the Davis Cup match against Russia and the tournament in Marseille.

His next tournament Nole will most likely play in Dubai, that starts on Monday, 3rd March 2008."

So I guess this issue is over.

Thanks anyway :)

This is pure Karma, that thing.

How long has it been since Nole got sick? About a week and a half? And he's still feeling bad?

Tsk Tsk.
Don't worry, Roger and Mirka will more than make up for it in "sickness" once they get thrashed at Dubai, IW, Miami, FO, Wimby, etc....
