I think he has a real chance now.

1; He get a WC for a warm up tournament.
2; Nadal early exit in wimbledon Djokovic make a final again (dont thunk he will win) then Djoko win some hardcourt tournaments.

With Nadal's win today I think there is a real chance for this.

Rafael Nadal 12 500 points, defending 10 points at Wimbledon (probably skip Halle given his current condition)
Novak Djokovic 12 330 points defending 1200 points at Wimbledon

If Djokovic enters a 250 torunament and wins there, he could be the slamless number 1. Everything is about Nadal's health and if he can still win on grass. I dont think he will run deep in Wimbledon, i dont see him making more than R2-3 there, but the sample is too small (one match last year) so it is hard to predict.

Highest chance the Monday after the UO I suppose, given Nadal isn't likely to defend Canada/Cincy/UO.
If he defend his points in Wimbledon and Rafa fall in R1-2-3, he has a chance in the Rogers Cup, he only defends 360 points there. If he wins Rogers Cup even if Rafa is in the final, he can be number 1 again or I made a mistake in my calcs? And in cincy he defends only 180 points so he can be number 1 before US open and without a GS. I think with this loss the chances for this are higher.

Naw...As long as Rafa stay healthy he is going to stay number 1 for most of this year. If healthy look for Rafa to make amends for the last two years and win Wimby. Which would mean almost 2000 points.

I doubt that he could win Wimbledon, but that's a different thread. Here is my thread about Rafa's problems in grass (sadly there is so little sample, only last years Darcis match)

EDIT: But if Rafa makes a semi final in Wimbledon Djokovic probably wont regain number 1.
