As a person I have nothing at all against Djokovic, but on the court he annoys me a hell of a lot.
He's no Nadal in terms of time cheating, but on most crucial points he will go considerably over the time limit. He got warned against Federer, but what was the point in that? He kept going over the limit and the umpire did nothing.
Still, a little bit of gamesmanship is something which I can accept, many players do it including some of my favourites, so I'm not going to complain about that too much. What really annoys me is the way the Djokovic camp and Novak himself respond to opposition fans.
Against Ferrer at the US Open last year the Djokovic camp and Serbian fans were incredibly loud and shouted after almost every point. I get it, they were excited because he was doing so well BUT every time any fans of Ferrer cheered everyone in Djokovic's camp, led by his father, would turn round and stare at these people as though they'd done something wrong.
The other night against Ferrer was possibly worse. The Serbian fans, especially screaming girls, were celebrating every point Djokovic won. When a Ferrer fan applauded a point however, Djokovic started shouting at the crowd and complaining. His fans and in fact his camp made much more noise than David's but you didn't see Ferrer complaining about that.
Again, today against Federer, his box were enraged by the fans of Federer. The row behind the immediate family of Djokovic stood up looking behind at some Fed fans all glaring and one of them shouting. It's as though his box think that Djokovic should be supported as loudly as possible but that on no account should anyone be allowed to so much as applaud an opponent's shot.
This isn't a reaction to the match because Federer lost btw, I don't particularly like or dislike Federer or Djokovic I just think that his box is as annoying as Sharapova's father.
