My grandma used to tackle these types of stories while painting her fingernails and drinking coffee with her friends from the neighborhood. She'd murder it from every possible angle.

That part of Djokovic's character is very surprising. He comes across as smart, but he loses his cool far too many times in tense matches. Breaking rackets is fine, but ball kids should be off limits. You don't takeout your frustration on ball kids. I hope he apologised for that. It takes away from his great legacy.

Not the first time he's done this (Berdych at the French). Should have been defaulted both times. No surprise coming from him.

Nice way to try to create a nothing-gate and spin this into something that it's not. He simply turned around to slam his racket on the court out of frustration, a ballboy happened to stand right there on the spot which is probably why he cut short the racket-smashing motion and turned away from the ballboy. There was no eye contact or communication between him and the ball boy... The umpire did not interpret this as him abusing the ballboy (or he would have reprimanded him) nor did the commentators watching it who only commented that Djokovic should be careful with the ballboy being so close.

One of the reasons why he has never won the Sportsmanship Award. His peers know.

Not saying players shouldn't express themselves on court, but it's very clear to most people you don't project your frustrations onto the ball kids. As a father, he could and should know better.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whataboutism

Whataboutism (also known as whataboutery) is a variant of the tu quoque logical fallacy that attempts to discredit an opponent's position by charging them with hypocrisy without directly refuting or disproving their argument, which in the United States is particularly associated with Soviet and Russian propaganda. When criticisms were leveled at the Soviet Union during the Cold War, the Soviet response would often be "What about..." followed by an event in the Western world.

I don't see any anger/frustration towards the ballboys in those gifs.
Djokovic didn't intend to do anything to ball boys. He was frustrated at himself. OTOH, Roger knew what he was doing when throwing those bottles and who will have to collect them. Ball boys are not some servants. :cuckoo:

Djokovic is not perfect but neither is Fed.
