Just turned 19 in December before her eight title, AO'93.

Between Monika's first and eight title (twelve slam period RG'90 - AO'93) Graf has just won two slams (Wimb'90/91) and then after the stabbing she won GS (four slams in a row).

With a matured (19-21 y.o.) Monika around, Graf would've probably again won just two slams in the next twelve slam period, without Monika she won seven.

Looking back now, it was pretty selfish of Steffi Graf not to arrange to have herself stabbed to level the playing field. Although then someone else's slams would have been 'asterisked'.
