Yay! More cycling threads! Big win for Bram Tankink yesterday, in fact his first victory as a pro! :yeah: Despite his fall a few km's before the finish line, he still won by quite a margin and now leads the general, sprint and mountain rankings! :)

I'm looking forward especially to the next two stages. I have planned visiting tomorrow's stage at the finish  It's quite an easy one though, but Thursday will be much more difficult!

Ullrich wants home win in Germany

With some of his top T-Mobile teammates running support, captain Jan Ullrich plans to "fight for victory" in his home race, as the nine-day Tour of Germany begins today with the 170km trek through Eastern Germany.

"To me there's no doubt I want to fight for the victory," Ullrich said of his plan's for the magenta army at home.

Six Tour de France racers will be part of that T-Mobile sqaud, which includes the departing Alexander Vinokourov.

The 31-year old Ullrich spoke fondly of Vino, who will be be departing to Liberty Seguros next season, in the lead up to the German tour.

"Vino is a great professional. As long as he rides in magenta, he will give it his all for the team."

Vino won the Deutschland-Tour in 2001, while Ullrich has never won it.

Also racing for Bonn-based squad toward the ultimate destination of Bonn are Matthias Kessler, Stephan Schreck and Tobias Steinhauser and the Italian Giuseppe Guerini.

"If I can keep my form of the previous weeks, I think I can mix it at the front and battle for victory," said Ullrich.

Thanks for the standing, its. For some reason, I'm having trouble with that website link...and you know there's no coverage of it here in the US.

I've been having trouble finding out where all the cyclists are placed myself. And sadly my german isn't too good, so I can't understand their websites.
