How much longer will people try to downplay his obvious improvement and status as a player?

Good for Minotaur but truth be told Muffin has been the shadow of his old self lately so it’s not that shocking news.

In the end losing 6/0 7/6, the score is not that bad, considering he played by far his worst ever DC match. He used to have great records in this competition and even played his best ever matches of his career in 2017 but today, he was almost pathetic, had a small reaction thanks to the nerves of De Minaur but could not take advantage of it.

Don't forget that Goffin was 5-1 down vs fucking Galan, so probably he plays like absolute shit right now, but still impressive from "Hitler". He might go deep in Australian Open.

Goffin isnt much of a player. We are talking about a player whom Cecchinato beat by 9 (nine) games and Ebden could have finished in under 23,5 games (BO5) if he wanted...

I remember Dodig taking a look at his coach to ask for a permission to bagel the lad. No permission given and the match ended 6-2 6-2 Dodig.

FFS, its Goffin. Not anyone relevant.

We are also talking about a player who double-bageled Berdych once. Goffin's a pretty solid top 10 mainstay.

Muffin was playing TOP10 level between Halle and USO, rest of his season was mainly a letdown.

David himself said that he wasn't well prepared to this tournament. He had horrible slow start yesterday again and it was too late in come back in the end.

Yes but in Belgium, we are also a bit tired of his excuses. 2 years ago, he said that DC needed a change as it was taking too much of him (I understand as we reached the final in 15 and 17 and he had then very long seasons), and now that we have a new format, and must play only one (or 2 weeks) the year, he arrived non prepared and saying after his first match, that matches in the best of threes were not good for him, and that he preferred the old format, in the best of five, so he had more time to develop his game and could start "slowly". He is really difficult to understand sometimes.
I preferred (and many Belgians would say the same) the behavior of Steve Darcis who almost pushed a very good Kyrgios in the third set yesterday and was fighting on every ball with his old fashion weapons as David who started to play when he saw that De Minaur was getting tight. For god's sake, each team received a check of 600.000$, to be divided in 5 or 6 players, so he could have given much more even if it is the end of the season. It is the same for everyone after all.
