Well, Roberto Quiroz couldn't do anything wrong, he was returning, passing with his eyes closed and him being a left-hander he didn't have to do much on serve, just slice to the backhand. He didn't give the old man any chance...
Actually, it shows you that some people watched the two players' first round matches. Karlovic went from 8/10 to 1/10 and Quiroz from 3/10 to 8/10. Those are some of the worst and best performances – respectively – that I've ever seen from each player.
I have never seen an atp pro player look as bad as Ivo did last night. He looked like a 4.0 with a serve. His volleys were 3.0. Maybe it was Quiroga who played deceptively well to make Ivo look awful.
Quiroz was hitting awesome passing shots all match. He approached the net quite often, too, some serve and volley, likely to prevent Ivo from getting to the net. Great strategy against a net-rushing opponent with poor passing shots, regardless of the quality of your own volleys. Ivo did his part, too... played horribly from both baseline and net, and the serve was subpar.
So you are saying many on this forum have watched Quiroz before? Lol he is a nobody and most have never seen him play, still it's a known fact any player on the tour is better to watch than Karlovic
