Well done big Ivo, he was the star of the tie. Tough QF for them in Argentina, but
Only 1 tiebreak in his 2 singles matches, once he got the 1st set. The big man settled down, hit the forehand well and came into the net at the right moments.
Karlovic never played this good, like last 3 singles matches.
This is actually his 2nd time made Croatia through, 1st one was vs Brasil in 2008. From that time he has 6:2 in singles (all live rubbers) and 2:2 in doubles.
This is first time Ivo won all 3 points for Croatia. Only Ljubicic (x5), Ancic (x1), Cilic (x1) did it. He is in really nice company. All of them won "live" matches. While Ivanisevic 7 times won all 3 points but 4 time 3rd match was "dead" match. It was "live" - "dead" ratio 1:2 for Croatia and 2:2 for Yugoslavia. Only he didn't lost single set in one tie (9:0 vs germany in 2002).
I'm happy for my neighbours.
Karlo playing great with breaking serve multiple times alone deserved to win this tie, even though Dodig almost f*cked up everything by playing mug tennis and losing two matches. Karlo won this tie almost by himself.
