Good match on a low bouncing grass court. Well done Fed.

On a side note, Rusty was looking a bit heavy in the old gut department

Roger was bad and Rusty good in the first set and most of the second, then the Swiss hit second gear and it was over.

The linecalling was atrocious though, Roger had many questionable aces

Never count Lleyton out, then again never count Federror out (even when leading and 2 breaks up), this match was in nobody's hands. A real struggle for Rog, his serve was bailing him out many times bps down. Lleyton's defense was very solid, surprised he was able to keep up the level despite the foot injury.

Tomic practically foaming at the mouth with the upcoming Fed clash, I am too.

They're gonna have to win the doubles. Roger may or may not win against the Kid, but I'm not sure at all Stan would beat Hewitt.

What a struggle for the Swiss.

We'll lose the 3 remaining matches... Pathetic.
Even though Federer struggled today it`s quite understandable after the long flight and little training on this surface.I would still favour him over Tomic. The rest of 2 matches could go either way, giving Hewitt the edge if it comes to a decider.

Federer will eat Tomic alive, people. Roger is going to exploit Bernie's bad movement and technique limitations to maximum.

As if fed loses to Tomic... Come on guys that's pathetic....

22 aces though - the court seems to be really fast....

Stan had an "ace" that was about three inches outside the service box

A friend of mine was in the crowd and she told me that at one point, people were asking about hawkeye :spit:

Now that's what you call a real grass court. Wimbledon could learn something.

They should move Wimbledon to Australia and move the Australian Open to Wimbledon. Fast grass down under, medium slow hard courts in England. Problem solved.

Great idea.

Good win for Fed after the USO fiasco. Will be interesting against Tomic but slicing isn't generally the way to beat the Fedster, judging by his record against guys like Youzhny.

The bounce was incredibly low, slices worked beautifully.

We all know Fedgimp won't use his slice backhand tactically.
