I think it's about time for David to have his own thread :p
And I'm sure that someday he will have his own forum too :)
I think he has such a beautiful game and he has so much potential! I'm sure he will move up in the rankings this year. :yeah:

He's playing some great tennis this week in Chennai and just reached the QF's.

ATP Chennai:

1R: (WC) David Goffin def. Xavier Malisse 4-6 6-2 6-3
2R: (WC) David Goffin def. Andreas Becker 4-6 6-4 6-2
QF: (WC) David Goffin vs Janko Tipsarevic

Good luck against Tipsarevic! :yeah:

Re: David Goffin Cheering Thread

Too bad he lost 2-6 in the third. He looked so tired in the last few games of the match. Still a grat tournament David :yeah:

He's planning to go indoors in Europe with challengers this Spring. Good decision in my opinion!

Re: David Goffin Cheering Thread

After some mediocre performances after the QF in Chennai, David has really found good form, in particular the past two weeks. David qualified and made the 2nd round of Marseille, losing to Tipsarevic again. He then made the QF of Quimper before taking a month off to rest and train before heading to America to play the qualifying event in Miami. David qualified easily for the Miami MD and defeated Young in R1 before losing to Almagro.

This week in Le Gosier, Guadeloupe, David has reached the semifinals, defeating Russell, Alexander Ward and Sugita to reach the final four. In his second round match vs Ward he was twice down a break in the third set and down *0-3 in the final set tiebreaker before winning six straight points and winning the match 6-2 3-6 7-6(4). He plays Roger-Vasselin for a spot in the finals on Sunday. He appears motivated and his form is high; with a win over ERV he will be inside the top 120 for the first time in his career! Only two more matches until the title, GL David!

Le Gosier SF: Goffin def. Roger-Vasselin 7-5 6-4

He plays Mischa Zverev for the title, which would bring him inside the top #115 and give him a chance to make the French Open MD direct entry. GL to David in the finals!

Re: David Goffin Cheering Thread

He may be playing qualifications at Casablanca/Houston next. David is provisionally #110 and will move up two more spots automatically next week. With Soderling and Ljubicic not playing the French, he's got a good chance of making the event without playing a tournament until the cutoff. But hopefully he can have a decent run next week and assure a position.

Re: David Goffin Cheering Thread

He's playing Davis Cup this week. Next week he will just train to prepare for the clay season. So he won't get any more points before the FO cut-off...

Re: David Goffin Cheering Thread

Well, that's fine. Even if he has to qualify at the French, he's proven that he can beat very quality players and maintain a good form for several matches at a time. His chances of making the MD depend on how everyone else does around him.

Now onto Davis Cup. GL to David and the rest of the team vs Great Britain! It's a road tie, but a very winnable one for the Belgians.
