If he encoutered him assuming Nishikori was fit and Nadal in his current form?
Or would he have been steamrolled like the rest of the pack (minus Djoko). What about against Djokovic?

Nishikori dominated a very weak Nadal in Madrid. But even before that he had an impressive form on clay with a 10 clay matches winning streak beating semifinalist Gulbis and QFs Raonic and Ferrer in the process.

Barcelona
R32 Roberto Bautista Agut 45 W 6-1, 4-6, 6-3
R16 Andrey Golubev (KAZ) 60 W 6-0, 6-4
Q Marin Cilic (CRO) 27 W 6-1, 6-3
S Ernests Gulbis (LAT) 23 W 6-2, 6-4
W Santiago Giraldo (COL) 65 W 6-2, 6-2

Madrid
R64 Ivan Dodig (CRO) 39 W 6-4, 6-4
R32 Guillermo Garcia-Lopez 38 W 6-3, 6-1
R16 Milos Raonic (CAN) 9 W 7-6(5), 7-6(5)
Q Feliciano Lopez (ESP) 29 W 6-4, 6-4
S David Ferrer (ESP) 5 W 7-6(5), 5-7, 6-3
F Rafael Nadal (ESP) 1 L 6-2, 4-6, 0-3 RET

Nishikori has the problem to walk at the front of Rafa.
As I told, I hope Stackhovsky plays Frauderer in ever WO, But the problem is not he couldn't beat Fed but can't go so far in slam

lol, comparing that Nadal to Rafa at RG. Didn't the Ferrer/Murray/Djokovic matches teach you anything? Just because they beat/pushed Rafa in a best of 3 warm up, doesn't mean they can push him in his house at RG.

By now, you should have realized there are 3 versions of Nadal.

Normal Rafa in normal tournaments - consistently one of the top 3 players on tour, winning plenty but being pushed hard at times, losing unexpectedly at times too.

GS Rafa. ****s everyone in front of him in B05 when on form and fully fit. Its 4 slam finals out of 5 since the comeback, and its now 9 finals out of the last 11 GS he has competed in(2 misses being the 2 Wimby debacles, one in which he was injured and took 7 months time out after). Only real competition is Djokovic, at times Murray.

Rafa on Clay = 66-1 . 6-0 against Novak, 5-0 vs Federer, who are the second and third best clay courters of the last decade.

He just has another level or two in him at GS, and beating Nadal at the FO, as cliched as it is, remains the hardest objective to scale in sports.

Vamos.

Nishikori cant play more than 1 set at peak level. Nishikori were in RG final he would pee his pants and get roasted by Rafa or Nole..

Can you explain why?
Don't start "Nadal at RG is different beast".
Explain tactically.
Tactically, Nadal would have won a total of 72 points before Nishikori would have won a total of 20.

GSM Nadal.

Tactics, no?

Yes, but Nadal would have still won in 4 (or 5 at worst).

Of course not, his body would never hold up in the latter stages of a slam.

He might take a set if he faced him in the first round.

People forget that in AO14 Rafa beat Kei. In his woorst GS. Just because Madrid14 Rafa wasnt good and Kei was impressive doesnt mean they would or could beat Rafa in RG.

Rafa faced the best player in the world. And beat him like we all saw.

Nope, Rafa has better doctors in the slams, so he is less injured and therefore he loses less because Rafa only loses when injured.
