Alex Corretja is taking fans to court at his new home on the Internet. The two-time French Open finalist, in conjunction with the ATP's Tennis Internet Group and Double Match S.L., launched his new official web site today.
The first image that greets visitors to the Alex Corretja web site is the moving lines of a tennis court that gives viewers the sensation of moving across the court while techno music blares in the background. Available in English, Spanish and Catalan, the site features news, stats, a biography page and video and audio content. A personal greeting from Corretja as well as a search tool that provides Corretja's career record against any opponent is also available on the front page.
"I am very excited to have a new home on the Internet where I can give back to everyone who has supported me throughout my career," said Corretja at a news conference in Madrid where he will face compatriot Juan Carlos Ferrero today. "The site allows me to share stories and information about my tennis and my life off the court with my fans in Spain and everywhere around the globe."
The site represents the first project for a new division of the Tennis Internet Group that will create and maintain innovative official Web sites for ATP players. The Tennis Internet Group worked with Double Match S.L., Corretja's management company, to create the official site.
"Backed by the global reach, editorial expertise and statistical resources of the Tennis Internet Group, the ATP is pleased to now develop official player sites with unique rich content to bring the fans closer than ever to their favorite players," said ATP Chief Executive Officer Mark Miles at the Madrid news conference. "With AlexCorretja.com, our web team worked closely with Alex and Double Match in an effort to help fans connect to one of the most successful players on the ATP circuit, and also one of the sport's leaders."
