With her victory over Justine Henin today. Serena has a total of 6006 points in only 13 tournaments and still counting. Congratulations on one awesome milestone and year as well.

Defending is not an issue if you really look at it. A player is ranked by the points they amass in a rolling 52 week period. In order to be #1 you must play like it. Serena has proved she is number one for this year. Now she must go out and prove she is number one for next year. If she is truly #1, she will play like it therefore no problem. The only problem she will encounter however is bonus points. She will lose all those bonus points.Bezza said:I dont mean to put a dampner on things, and this is a great achievement but imagine trying to defend them all next year.
Congrats anyway!!
She definitely will play Filderstadt, Zurich and La where she is defending Winner's points. I have also heard rumors she is also playing Linz. Can anyone else verify this?Danny said:Congratulations, Serena
does anyone know what was the highest points total Martina Hingis had while she was ranked No. 1?
I don't remember, is Serena scheduled to play all three: Zurich, Filderstadt and LA?
