In no other GS draw have all 4 quarters been so weak. In the past, a player can get lucky with a cakewalk. It was ever thus. What is new in this Covid-era draw is that all 4 quarters are weak before play even begins.

Novak's draw is still much stronger than Federer and Nadal's USO draws when they won.

Sorry, can you please explain to me how Nadal's USO '17 was weaker than Djoko's USO '16 or USO '18?

In my opinion, both USO '17 and '18 were similar.... Rafa was in the same half as Roger but Roger lost to Delpo whom Rafa beat on the way to glory. In '18, Roger was in the same quarter as Novak and lost to Millman whom Novak beat before beating Delpo in the finals. Very similar draw...

highest seed was 27 or something, delpo was completely gassed after 1 set... like come on it was a walkover essentially...

We don't yet know how Djokovic's draw will end up at this US Open. If he gets Tsitsipas in the SF and Thiem or Medvedev in the final, then there have certainly been weaker draws, especially of course Nadal's in 2017.

Everest is a cakewalk, but K2 is much harder and more dangerous mate.
AO' 18 does take the cake though, you are correct there.
Add to that a bamboozled Cilic in the final, after the match was made indoors at the last minute.
