The field is wonderfully weak here. Hopefully Rafael gets a good draw for once, and doesn't have to play Moya or Gonzo in the first couple rounds. With a good draw he could post a very nice result. So far he's really only losing to players that he "should" lose to.

True, but he must have been disappointed to lose to Corretja in Barcelona and not complete the triple scalp of veteran Spaniards along with Moya and Costa. Especially when he considers the kind of players that Corretja HAS lost to this year...

My word, that is a weak field - aren't Moya, Mantilla and Gonzalez the only ones in the Top 50 there? Nadal should get in as a seed, never mind worrying about his first or second round. Honestly, it's all very well Moya having this incredible record at Umag, but if he has to fight his way through tournament fields like that why on earth is it such an achievement? Hopefully he'll draw Karlovic in the first round and become the second defending champion to be dumped out by the giant...
