I think they're being facetious. I suspect we'll see these threads/posts even if there aren't any "haters" out here trying to down play his win (I haven't seen one yet). I think they need to quit being so sensitive...Rafa played well today and deserved to win.

Exactly. Even if everyone praises him, ESPN pimps him and shows his matches, everyone gives him his due respect, we will see these threads. Nothing can stop some people from feeling defensive I guess.

BTW, I wonder how many more times Nadal has to win before his winning becomes boring? Or is that just reserved for Federer? Frankly, I just love watching good tennis. Nadal provided great tennis this week.

as for me, i don't care about those terms, clay specialists, hard court specialists, i like tennis and i enjoy good one played even on ice ..sorry if it was too much facetious. ..no offense to any one..

Not for anything but Rafa will always be more known as a "clay courter" because lets face it his game is best suited/played on clay and he's just THAT much better on it. Nadal on clay is the heavy favorite vs anybody, but stick him on any other surface and he isn't the heavy favorite vs everyone on tour. Well done though on winning the TMS in Montreal. True he didn't beat a slew of top hardcourt players, but I've watched him twice live and he knows how to transition his clay court game well enough to be effective on hard. Also his insanely good defensive skills are never lost with the change of surface.

this thread is just dumb, people are enjoying his win just leave it at that. Everyone had doubts about his performance on faster surfaces because he hadnt done much, but now he has and people have acknowledged it. People need to stop with all the idiosyncrasies

Until Rafa takes over #1 from Rogi he'll never be boring, and I suspect even after that he still won't be boring to a lot of people here.

No offense taken. But no one here has down played Rafa's win today at all. So it's annoying to see threads like this anticipating something that probably won't happen. Cincy starts up tomorrow so most people will have moved on to the next tournament.

Get used to it, the Kid IS good!! He was very deserving of his win today. Agassi threw everything he had at him, but Nadal handled most of it for an impressive win. Roger may now have a real challenger. Remember that Rafa nearly beat Roger on hard courts in Miami, and I think he is a better player now than he was then.

Who this week was saying he can't win on HC? I'm not aware of anyone. I know some people had to dredge up old posts just to shove it in people's faces that Rafa was proving doubters wrong.

Yes, you are right. I did have to repost that prediction from Dirk that Nadal wouldn't win a title off clay this year. :devil:

I didn't know there was a rule that I could only call out people who had posted a negative comment THIS week. I must have missed that somewhere. :lol: :lol:
