He doesn't play bad an hardcourt, he just is a mental midget since KitzbühelThiem now is 34-18 on clay, 23-33 off of clay.
I see Almagro-like career for him.
In fairness, that US Open run included wins over Mugbis and Lopez. Thiem got demolished by the first good player he met, Berdych. He doesn't play bad an hardcourt, he just is a mental midget since KitzbühelHe had 2 MPs against Gulbis on hardcourt and reached the 4th round at the US Open last year and the QF in Miami this year. So I don't see why he he should only make points at clay courts.
I was thinking the same thing...If Simon didn't have Ivo first round I'd be happy about this result.
He was at spot #60 or something then. Didn't know he was a Top 20-player back then.In fairness, that US Open run included wins over Mugbis and Lopez. Thiem got demolished by the first good player he met, Berdych.
Surprise win for Klizan who has been hopeless for months. The guy has talent so it would be nice to see him find some form again. :yeah:
Looks like the result in Montreal wasn't so perfect :devil:love Martin, dislike Thiem = perfect result
