Re: Cincy R1: Klizan def. Thiem 76 36 76

Ouch, bad loss for Thiem, especially that scoreline in the third. What were the tiebreak scores?

:banghead: Oh Domi, how can one lose with these stats? 12 points more overall, a single bp for the opponent who did 10 DFs.

118 points won from Dominic, 106 from Klizan.

Dominic saved no BP till 4-1 in the 3rd set

I am really mad at him right now. Choked like Melzer

5 and 4

Havn't seen Klizan play recently. watched him some time ago at, I think, Roland Garros, and thought the guy had some potential. Results have been kinda dissapointing though.

Thiem now is 34-18 on clay, 23-33 off of clay.
I see Almagro-like career for him.
He doesn't play bad an hardcourt, he just is a mental midget since Kitzbühel  He had 2 MPs against Gulbis on hardcourt and reached the 4th round at the US Open last year and the QF in Miami this year. So I don't see why he he should only make points at clay courts.

Bad loss, Klizan hasn't done anything this year, certainly not lately.

Also seems like it was a pretty bad choke, although we can only guess.

In fairness, that US Open run included wins over Mugbis and Lopez. Thiem got demolished by the first good player he met, Berdych.

Surprise win for Klizan who has been hopeless for months. The guy has talent so it would be nice to see him find some form again. :yeah:

He was at spot #60 or something then. Didn't know he was a Top 20-player back then.
