No1e had to deal with so many obstacles today: a stomach virus, the wind, sun, heat and humidity, having to play two matches in one day against peak 200% Dimitrov and peak 200% Raonic, who was serving 150 mph, without having much time to rest for the second match, and he didn’t just deal with it, he passed it with flying colors. Given the circumstances, No1e was amazing from start to finish. He was hitting the ball deep and hard, and especially returning great, and there was nothing his opponents could do about it. One of the many joys of being a No1e fan is we can expect to see something special at any moment, and today we saw something legendary. How many players can deal with this much adversity in one day and still conquer it all? There is only one player who can do this: the BOAT and GOAT, No1e.

Also, today’s matches were the real final. Having to play 2 opponents in 1 day, Dimitrov and Raonic, will be his toughest test for the title, and it’s only going to be easier from now on.

4 down, 2 to go. No1e is so close to the title now. I’m getting really excited :) :yippee:

Djokovic did well today, showed real mental toughness against guys who played well at times. Ultimately Novak is a level above those guys and he proved it today.

Gen useless stalwart more or less choked the match away after securing the break in the 3rd set. Raonic is truly useless gainst Novak. IT's getting sickening.
Honestly, I don't know how Novak will get past Cilic, unless he bends over too, which let's be honest, seems totally possible.

Novak's 3rd set was the best he's played since Wimbledon. Raonic just has a mental block. Blew the 1st set. 2nd set was clean. 3rd set he gets the break, then when Novak ups his level Raonic wilts.

Novak was actually lucky Raonic played shitty in the first set. Raonic picked up the pace in the second, but sweet christmas those were some legendary Djokovic returns he just couldn't deal with. Delicious stuff.

edit: Are there some new rules to admins editing posts that I'm unaware of?

Now for the non-deluded version.

Nole was mediocre in this match and Milos broke in both sets that he lost but then choked. He was far from 200%, his serve was way below his best. He should have won but choked and threw a match away that was his for the taking.

Congrats to Nole he accepted the chokes but he will need to play a lot better than this to beat a half-decent, non-choking opponent.

This was not peak 200% Raonic. Peak Raonic would have held serving for the first set and taken this in 2 they way he played.

Raonic was horrible protecting his 2nd serve in the 1st and 3rd sets. Bad challenge to cost him late in the 3rd set as well.

1st set 2nd serve 8/24 33%
2nd set 2nd serve 9/11 82%
3rd set 2nd serve 1/10 10%

This is a bad loss for Raonic.

It was a much more high quality match than Djokovic-Dimitrov. Raonic choked in the 1st set, but otherwise his level was quite good. Could be dark horse for USO.
Djokovic didn't look good in 1st 2 sets, but his level in 3rd set after being break down was at least as good as Wimbledon 2018. Hope he beats Cilic and sets up another final vs Federer :)

The last two Djokovic matches sums up generation useless in a nutshell. Both Mugnic and Dimug had a chance to beat a terrible Djokovic but both choked away the match, as expected. The fact Djokovic won Wimbledon is a freaking joke!

relatively bad form from both. Raonic was decent in rallies (at least compared with the rest of his 2018 self) but served very poorly overall. Was broken quite a few times in the match.

Djokovic extremely sporatic, not a good match. Seems to struggle with going on the offensive and is pushing a bit too much. Would expect Cilic to beat him but we'll see

Spot on. Peak Raonic would have won this in two easily.

Very good 1st set and very shaky 2nd one, with an avoidable break there.
The rebreak in 3rd woke Novak really up, from there he was on a cruise. He should have been more aggressive at the start of service games, too many 0-30 scores.

Raonic choked the 1st set away and partly also the 3rd. His FH was off at times, which gifted the rebreak in 3rd set.
He is useless in the mental department against the Big3, he can beat them only when they are at their worst.
This was not such a time today.

With this win, Djokovic is also assured a Top 8 seed at the USO (passes Dimitrov for #7, but can still be passed by Goffin if David wins the tournament)
