Not a troll thread, but after Nole won the US Open I completely stopped following tennis out of disgust. ( I previously used to follow tennis intensely ever since 2005). Now I am back after hearing the good news. But it seems, I have missed out a lot in the interim. Can someone summarize in a few words, the state of men's tennis in the interim along with any important results/changes?
Love and Thanks in advance.

Djokovic and Nadal destroyed each other in the US Open Final. Federer couldn't be arsed to played the Asian swing, so Murray cleaned up over there winning 3 titles, including bagling Raga in the Tokyo final. Federer returned for the indoor season, winning Basel and Paris (the latter for the first time) with Murray basically being fit one minute and then injured the next and Djokovic unfit with Rafa skipping it all.

Not much else happened, unless you support Argentina and Spain, but being a Brit I don't bother with the Davis Cup as we're crap.

its one of the following:

A: Nadal and Nole lazy pieces of trash when the conditions don't benefit their game, and they have pretty much gone into hibernation post USO.
B: Legit burn out to Nole and Rafa.. They have busted their tales all year and never have enough left in the tank for the end of the year
C: Just better threats indoors who's game benefit them more

I guess its a combination of all of the following.

Faster conditions indoors with no wind and lower bouncing balls better fitting for their game then slow conditions outdoors.. Nole still nursuing an injury, Rafa just not caring until January hits and Nole and Rafa just plain aren't as effective indoors against guys who are hitting bigger and going more for the kill

Djokovic tired/injured (?)
Nadal lackluster/poor indoor form
Federer fresh/strong indoor form

That would have been an excellent summery... if it was the whole truth.

You need to give credit where credit is due. It is DELPO not Nadal who destroyed Djokovic.

The Serbian's recent era can be divided into two Davis cup events:
  1. before and after the Davis cup win
  2. before and after the Davis cup loss (a.k.a before and after the DELPO ass-whooping!

In summary, shitty.

That is all. Best moment was Murray's 6-0 set vs. Nadal.

But Novak was already spent when he played JMDP in that match
No he wasn't at all.

Until in the middle of the Delpo match everything was going perfect for Djoker and everyone was 100% sure that he would win everything without a shadow of a doubt as he has done for months until then.

It's Delpo who rewrote the script and stopped the unstoppable high-speed "Djoker train" dead on it's tracks. Djoker became spent BECAUSE Delpo cleaned his clock in his own backyard.

wtf do the conditions have anything to do with it? they can't have a break after having the 2 most grueling seasons out of any other player?

Yes, and Novak fell very hard. How would you expect Novak just to bounce back after those 2 last matches in NY and a few days later take on JMDP at his best in Davis cup, I mean wtf? It was stupid he even played, but he values Davis Cup so much.
