Whereas Djokovic needed a 6-4 5th Set vs. Thiem (a player not even known more for clay than hardcourt).
This year's AO was the most unconvincing slam title of Djokovic's career, so most probably the last he'll ever win.

I think winning slam's after 35 is going to prove difficult always. Federer caught lighting in a bottle for a year and was, I admit a bit lucky that Djokovic was hampered.
