In the last set Wawrinka was having break points every game Almagro was serving and he was holding easily untill the 4-5 were Almagro broke in his first opportunity (30-40). Clearly it helps a lot mentally if you start serving in the last set, if not you're under a lot of pressure when serving to stay in the match.
This match is a good example of why a one hander vs. one hander is such a fantastic combo in a clay court match. A lot of angles that are just inaccessible to a lot of the current crop of players. Plus makes up for a great watch.
Sounds like it was amazing. Too bad I didn't watch it. Nicolas continues his clay streak. He really loves this time of year. Keep going, Nicolas! Go one further this year and win all 3 titles
I don't understand how people hate Nicolas so much. He's a joy to watch on all surfaces (more so on clay) and he's a great player. Far better to watch than the current top 2 who are seen as tennis deities on here :lol:
