Is that the first time that FrytaMatka play against each other in an ATP tour?I think so...
Chennai

【1】Paes/Klaasen VS Haider-Maurer/Lacko
【WC】Bhupathi/Myneni VS Falla/A.Gonzalez
【4】Marach/Venus VS Busta/Garcia-Lopez
Berankis/Pavic VS Muller/Sijsling

Raja/Shamasdin VS Bedene/Dzumhur
Agut/Wawrinka VS 【3】Brunstrom/Monroe
Lu/Marray VS 【WC】Balaji/Nedunchezhiyan
Cermak/Vesely VS 【2】Begemann/Haase
Dolgopolov/Nishikori, that sounds like a great new team. I wonder how seriously they are taking doubles though.

Lopez/Mirnyi withdraw?
don't know why they withdrew...

but F.lopez is playing Chennai singles and Mirnyi is playing with Dodig in Doha...

Paes could beat Bhupathi in the latter last match on home soil

Raja/Shamasdin
What happened to Raja/Sharan? They haven't entered a single tournament together since May 2014. I never expected much from them despite the Bogota title, but am surprised to see that they don't play together any more. They probably wouldn't have qualified to enter Chennai together(and wouldn't have gotten a WC over the other two Indian teams), but they don't even play challengers together any more.

I could have sworn that they've played together before, but nothing shows up in their playing activity. I must be dreaming.

In ATP Tour probably yes, but in mixed doubles they were playing against each other at US Open 2013. :)
Btw, that draw is merciless for Polish guys - winner can meet with another Pole. :spit:
Tomorrow morning Finland time it all begins again, Kontinen/Draganja vs Querrey Johnson first doubles of the year?

I can confirm that this is their first time playing each other on tour level.

If you include ATP, GS, ITF, CH, Futures and Juniors; Singles, Doubles and Mixed doubles, they have played each other only 4 times before

Szczecin CH 2002 R1: Matkowski def. Fyrstenberg 7-6(6) 7-6(6)

USO Mixed Doubles 2007 R1: Fyrstenberg/A. Radwanska def. Matkowski/Black 6-4 6-4
USO Mixed Doubles 2013 R1: Matkowski/Peschke def. Fyrstenberg/Rodionova 6-3 2-6 [10-8]

Juniors: Mera Cup 1998 SF: Fyrstenberg/Butka def. Matkowski/Nijaki 3-6 7-5 7-5
there are some really random pairings here. tomic/raonic and berankis/pavic for example.
First doubles result of the year Johnson/Querrey beat Kontinen/Draganja 6-2 6-4 very comfortable win for them :awww:

What is your opinion on the Berankis/Pavic vs Sijsling/Muller match? They are 1.85/1.85 in the odds.
Kontinen/Draganja :spit: Bad loss.

I'd expect Berankis and Pavic to take that.
Murray/Peers surprised first seeded Rojer/Tecau with scoreline 6-3 6-4.
Monaco has not played since 13.10.2014 in Moscow, has he been injured?
Nishikori/Dolgopolov just beat 2nd seeded Bopanna/Nestor, shows how unpredictable doubles game is compared to singles.
Easy win for Guccione/Hewitt over Duckworth/Matosevic

More than anything it shows that high quality singles players like Nishikori and Dolgopolov could own the doubles tour if they wanted to.
