This is great news for the tournament.

It's also good for Djokovic. The #1 spot will become easier for him to hold when he gains 2000 points for his record-equalling 8th men's singles title.
Well... just wait till Djokovic says something about the war and Putin.

There is a very strong correlation between anti vaccination nutcases and Putin lovers

Has any russian tennis player openly shown support for Putin? None that I am aware of. Rublev was the most anti-war, that's for sure.
Not that I'm aware of.

Showing support to Putin is like wearing a Nazi emblem and yelling Heil Hitler nowadays. No tennis player can be that stupid.

Yes, but this needs some context.

Rublev wrote "No war please" on the court camera the day after the russian invasion, before the use of the word "war" was outlawed in Russia.

And being in favor of peace can also mean wanting Ukraine to surrender quickly, to avoid more combats. It doesn't necessarily mean being against the invasion.

So while it was courageous from him to mention the war (it was the big elephant in the room that no other Russian player wanted to speak about), he didn't exactly come out against his government.

Among the russian pros, only some at a lower level have been stupid enough to defend the invasion. All the others avoid the subject.

"No war" is not a courageous statement (except the semantics between war and "special military operation"), 8 billion people in the world are probably against any kind of war.
