17 aces on clay today for Clutchray. :worship:

Murray's big serving is widely regarded as helping him clinch his major prizes. Even serving at 50% in the Olympic final, Murray's bombs got him out of many a tricky spot, saving multiple break points in that final.

Since 2014 his serve has gone AWOL during many humiliating defeats, including Clayray 2.0's RG14 SF to Dull. Murray bowed out serving just over 30% versus Fed at the O2, and the serve fell apart during many beatdowns to Nole.

A good run on clay has always been the missing ingredient to getting Murray to Number One.

During 2011 (the rise of Clayray), Returnray was Number 1 (ahead of Rafa) on first serve return points won on clay, and Number 3 on 2nd serve return points won, behind only 2011ovic and the former King Of Clay.

Unfortunately for us, Clayray was ranked 54th for Service games won, despite taking the runner up spot behind Rafa for Return games won.

Lendlray never really got a chance on the clay, but his serve gradually improved under his Czech coach, and seems to be firing (even on the dirt) this week.

If we combine Botray with Clayray (and the constant Returnray) to get Clayray 3.0, a few M1000S and a French Open should finally see Andy get that Number 1 spot off the Djoker.

Wimbledon and US Open 2015 already confirmed.

The people who make these sensationalist threads really need to stop. There's a real pattern of stupidity that exists whenever someone wins a title, and it seems to even relate to MM events

Seriously, it's bad enough to see people trying to ruin a tennis fan's enjoyment of their favourite player winning something with talk of Satan taking over the world as a result, but threads like this aren't helping. It's like placing a pile of dog shit on the floor and seeing how many flies it can attract.

;)

Even if it's a little in jest, it's not like a made a "Gasquet World Number 1" thread.

A 2nd-in-the-race player serving well on clay (for once) surely merits a World Number 1 discussion? :worship:

If he wins Madrid, why not. :)
He won't (or won't get any close to winning or to SF/F), so this thread is pretty useless.

Let's see whether he'll be able to keep up the consistent good serving in the long run, a la Djokovic, at least...
OTOH, I don't really see a winning formula in his HC game consistently either.
He is prone to lose not only to Djokovic on the surface. So some improvement would be needed as well.

Am I the only one who finds those jokes about Clayray incredibly lame and unfunny? It's now on par with Berlocq's pseudo-hype and those stupid King nickname to Kyrgios...
