"I did my prissy preparation I knew I had nothing to lose and I took my chances. I played very well and Nadal was not at his best and only worked for me, "
"When I'm at my best I am more game Djokovic and when I'm not, Murray. My game is quite similar to Djokovic. Me I move very well, little error, I am a fighter and the backhand is my best shot. At the moment I am the best of my generation. I become top 50 in the coming months is a realistic goal."
"Play tennis to enter the top 20 was never the goal. It means less for the sport if the goal is not the number 1 "

They are both cocky but the difference between the two is that Coric has started to deliver while Kokkinakis hasn't.
Nonsense. There is really nothing between them at this stage in terms of achievement that isn't explained by luck of the draw.

Kokkinakis actually moved up the rankings faster than Borna last year after almost a year out because of back stress fracture - he started the year at 628 ended 150; Borna started at 303, made it to 91.

Both picked up a futures title last year; both had almost exactly the same number of challenger match wins to their name (18 for Thanasi; 17 for Borna); and up until Borna's wild card into Basel both had pretty much the same number of wins at tour level.

I don't mind a bit of ambition - aiming to be no 1 is good. But talking down the competition, not so much.

Especially given that if you take generation to means the teens you'd have to say Zverev at a year younger and up until Basel at almost identical ranking (Coric, Kokk and Zverev leapfrogged over each other repeatedly in the second half of last year), Kokkinakis in his year, and Kyrgios a year older provide tough competition for him. Great for the game mind you...

Nothing between them? Really? Despite being 8 months younger, Coric beat Kokkinakis in the final of the US Open Jr, is ranked a good bit higher in the rankings and has scored far bigger upsets. As always your patriotism is clouding your judgement and you are desperate to overhype the young Aussies.

Things might change in the future but Coric is ahead of the two at the moment.

Don't worry about the cockiness.
The more successful he gets, the more pc he'll become.
Before long, he'll be giving bland answers in all interviews and everyone will be lamenting where the brash outspoken young man went.

Unfortunately, yes. I remember how awesome Djokovic was back in the day, before marketing agencies and the obsession with being loved got the best of him.

Of course Kyrgios is the best of his generation at this moment, and how can he be like Djokovic? Djokovic has such a great forehand and has a really great attacking game, while even Coric is a really powerful player, his playing style in baseline is quite defensive and counter-punching, maybe he can be agressive when he improved his forehand wing. He has great power and quickness, but his techincal in forehand side is quite awkward.

His main weapon will be his serve and backhand, he has to run a lot, get a lot of ball back, so he must have great fighting-spirit and physical-fitness to maintain this playing style. He will be very tough to beat.
