Bold prediction: Novak "Nole" Djokovic will go undefeated for the rest of the season

This is not a jinx/troll thread.

First of all, he's basically guaranteed to win everything after the USO. He's been dominating the Asian swing for the last couple of years, and there's no one there that can realistically challenge him.

He will win Montreal as his biggest competitor these days in BO3 Federer is out. Cincinnati will be the biggest challenge, but we already know motivated Djokovic is still undefeated :shrug: He will be determined to complete the set of masters titles.

The US open is also Nole's to lose. Federer can't stay with him in best of 5 on grass, much less hard. Murphy has become a mental midge when playing Nole, losing the last however many times. Stanimal is the only real challenge, but you never know what you get with him: he could lose in R1 or go all the way and blow Nole off the court again if he is on (ala RG final). However, his inconsistency means Djokovic remains the heavy favorite for the title.

Yep, you "never know" with Stanimal at HC slam, such "inconsistent" HC animal.

That's why in the last five HC slams he has played "just" four 5-setters against Djokovic and one 5-setter against Nishikori, who thus stopped five consecutive HC 5-setters Djokovic/Stanimal from happening.

So, Nole haters and jinxers (open, disguised or subconcious) would probably be satisfied only if Stanimal played two more 7-setters or 8-setters the next USO/AO against Djokovic (hopefully winning both, thus being dead tired for Fedal), because the two HC 6-setters and two HC 5-setters were not consistent enough for them, especially because Stanimal won just one.

One thing you don't need to worry about predicting, though, is both Fedal being drawn in the opposite half from Djokovic/Stanimal the next USO/AO again and again, as always at HC slam.

Is certainly within the realms of possibility, but most likely he will ""drop the ball"" somewhat if he does manage to finally snare his 2nd USO.
At the end of the day, getting another title in NY is what counts the most.
