Is their an argument for Fed fans that its better for Rafa to win today irrespective if he ties his slam record?
Lets be honest Djokovic is still very competitive in all 4 slams, and if he wins today thereby pulling it to 20-19-18, he could easily surpass Federer Nadal within the next 18 months.
Although Rafa will tie Fed with a victory today, I'm not sure how many slams outside the FO he has left given he'll turn 35 next year, and each year on he'll be increasingly less invincible on clay.
Both are favourites to eventually to pass him anyway but I think Djokovic has the far greater potential to win more and thus for Federer it would be better perhaps to accept Nadal tying him for now and try to win a GS next year.
