What new-gen player do you think has had the most impressive slam performance so far? I've been thinking about this for some time and as it turns out, there are really few players who come into consideration.

So let's rank the best overall slam performance as well as the peak performance (in a single slam match) by a new-gen player.

I can think of:

1) Medvedev USO 2019. US '19 final.
2) Tsitsipas AO 2019. QF vs Federer (idk if it was QF)

Can't think of anyone else really.

Medvedev has never won a 5-setter.
What does that have to do with anything? This thread is about the best slam performance by a new-gen player up so far. Irrelevant of whether they lost or not.

AO Tsitsipas played Federer in the R16.
Chung AO against Djokovic 2017. A shame the guy is still having fitness issues.
Zverev - yet to see really but he did push Nadal hard in 2017 R3 before cramping in the fifth set.
Tiafoe had a good AO last season to make QF. Wins over Anderson and Dimitrov (2018). This was also Edmund's path in 2017.
Rublev 2017 prior to the QF beat Dimitrov and Goffin in straight sets. He lost just one set en route to the QF.
Shapovalov USO 2017 - defeated Medvedev, Tsonga, in straight sets, then Edmund. Lost to PCB in three TBs.

Berrettini vs Fed Wimbledon 2019.
lousy. Berrettini should have lost to Schwartzman in the previous round.

Chung is a good call. It's a pity it was a one off - at least it looks like it atm.
And Berrettini was a joke - that would be a good candidate for the worst not the best. ;)
