2009 was really good, compared to the previous few you felt like there was a level of hunger and difficulty to win it with no easybeats. Also more precious in hindsight given the misfortunes waiting for Davydenko, Del Potro and eventually Soderling.

I have been saying that for as long as i can remember. The 2009 edition is the strongest lineup there has been for the last 20 years..

If he hadn't lost to Novak Djokovic in 3 tight sets, Nikolay Davydenko's run would have been one of the most impressive there is.
