My god. 5 in a row. Zverev was so so bad. I have no words.
Happy to see Daniil in a SF again, good chances vs. Tien!

Couldn't watch but seems even a washed Meddy with a washed serve is still superior to Pusherev at servebot pushing. But his massive ego will blame the big 3 (or even Sincaraz) for his failures. I stopped caring much after AO 25 final and his pathetic performance in the final. He will never change. Just go see a psychotherapist ffs. But no! Gotta play depressed (and make everyone miserable) even at LC to make more money. Filthy rich yet still schedules like someone desperate for money. I don't know what to say anymore. He desperately needs a break from tennis. He is just miserable out there right now.

This. Can´t even understand his father also. Zverev Sr. sit in the box like Buddha, couldn´t help him for years now. As a coach and dad he has to care of his son and step down to get him a new coach.

Also owned by Fritz, and he has the nerve to talk about how the Big 3 prevented him from winning a slam. No words. Dude's ego has to be caused by some mental illness at this point. He needs both a psychiatrist and a psychologist at this point. His clown team is the most useless team I've ever seen for a top player, but he only hires yes-men. Shittypas has similar ego issues and a useless team. No wonder only Meddy won a slam among this "big 3". He worked the hardest despite his technical limitations.

It's pretty surprising even 2025 Medvedev, Zverev can't beat...more winners from Medvedev and it's not like Medevdev was going all out (although his FH didn't disintegrate as it has been this season IMO), and Zverev just can't make an opening to get out of the baseline rallies which surprisingly he keeps on losing many IMO.

No matter how out of form Medvedev is, he still beats Zverev. Even the gap in the rankings didn't make Medvedev an underdog in the match and this win surprised noone. The only possible surprise is the relatively one-sided score.
Is there any other player who lost two matches against Medvedev this year?

Good stuff. But ATP should ve kept boycotting China after what happened in 2020 and beyond

It's mind-boggling to me how on earth Zverev is still a top 4 player this year after only making 1 GS final thanks to Novak's retirement, not a single M1000 FINAL, only 1 title the entire year after entering plenty of tournaments (where he only had to beat 1 top 20 player, everyone else was outside the top 30), and a 2-5 record against top 10 players.

One of the most overrated mugs in the sport. No wonder why he's never won a slam and never will.

Even when it comes to the top players of his own generation or younger, he has terrible & losing record vs most of them - like Medvedev, Tsitsipas, Fritz, and Paul - apart from big 3 and Sinner/Alcaraz

Next year he will drop outside the top 5 for sure, and will be lucky to finish in the top 8

Apart from the current top 3, this era is so weak filled with so much inconsistency

Grand Slam F
Grand Slam QF
500 title
M1000 SF x2

That's 3000 points just from 5 tournaments. And, like you said, he played A LOT more earning 100-200 points at each of those "extra" tournaments.

It's hardly different than Raonic finishing 2016 at #3 with one 250 title, one GS final (with SF win over hobbling Federer) and one M1000 final. Things like that happen when the tour has two dominant players.

Not really. People are fascinated by the Swiatek/Ostapenko H2H because Swiatek is the much more accomplished player. But she still can't beat Ostapenko even after said accomplishments. It's hard to think of any other equivalent.

Medvedev, as out of form and potentially washed up as he is, is still a more accomplished player than Zverev.
