Re: Barcelona: Juan Mugnacio Chela beats Ernests Gulbis 2-6 6-4 6-3

Gulbis completely screwed over by the scheduling. :smash: :smash: :smash:

Played a long three setter until 8:00pm last night, then scheduled for 1:00pm the next morning, and it showed in the match. ABSOLUTE DISGRACE

I was exaggerating a little but it is certainly early.

I agree it was early! they should've put him maybe among the last two matches! but we got to agree that erno isn't as good a player on clay as he's on other surfaces! that's it IMO!

I watched his match against Moya and I actually think he is pretty good on clay, and his game isn't badly suited to clay. In 2006 when he was very young he reached two challenger finals, in 2007 he was in bad form during the clay season so I don't think that showed his true potential. Chela is not in the best form so he was a beatable opponent (the scheduling probably made the difference). I am looking forward to some good results on clay for him in the next month.
