Dolgo was 5-4* 40-0 in the first and 6-5* 40-30.

Ended up losing in straights.

How did Dolgopolov prepare for Barcelona: playing chess with Tio Toni. #notbad

Dolgopolov back to his dark hobbies i see
Montanes :haha: Always was a mistery for me how this guy keeps his ranking that high.

Good. Only because, as I have said many times, I hate when matchups repeat in a short period of time. We saw (well, not really...) Dolgopolov - Gulbis in Monte Carlo, so I really prefer Gulbis playing Montanes here.

What you really mean is you don't want to see Gulbis lose to the Dog again.

No it's not. It is exactly how I put it. Also, with the embarrassing streaming coverage that Barcelona has, Gulbis playing against the Spaniard gives better chance to actually see the match, because it seems to me that Barcelona is only streaming from one court. And I really don't see Montanes as being a much weaker opposition than the Dog would have been.

Dolgo  I -almost- thought we were over these. Ernests better take advantage of this draw now.

He's much easier to deal. Of course, he's a clay court specialist, but his strokes are much less dangerous and flat (Gulbis hates to counter-hit flat balls).

But you never know what you'll get with the Dog. Just take this result as an example. Obviously Dolgopolov is a better player, but what I meant was that even Montanes can (and probably will) cause Gulbis (in his current form) problems.
