WHAT A MATCH!!! I really thought that Malisse was going to win after being up a break late in the third, but Tommy stayed strong and won the last four games and the match. (Remember it is only a 1 in 6 chance that a player will break so the odds of this happening are slim like in real life) Overall, it was a very clean match with some brilliant shotmaking from Xavier who used his angled backhand, powerful forehand, and brilliant touch at net to give Tommy a huge scare before the German's overwhelming power from all sides took its toll on the breathless Belgian. Better luck next time Xavier!

This was an ugly match. Both players were making many errors, especially from their backhands. Andy was misfiring like nobody's business on his forehand in the second set, and had an astonishing 12 double faults (Youhzney had 13 though). Both players had well more than double the amount of unforced errors as winners, and most of the winners they had were from lobs and dropshots. In the end, Andy was mentally the tougher player and won ugly.

This was the stereotypical men's tennis match. Both players got over 70% first serves in, and were basically serving eachother off court. Andy had 34 aces, and Tommy had 29. The difference was that in the first set, Tommy Double Faulted 4 times in a row  , and also double faulted once in the tiebreaker to hand Andy the match. However, he only had one other double fault the entire match, so it was basically a little bit of misfortune for Tommy. Against most people it would not matter quite as much, but against the way Andy was serving today, a few double faults are fatal. (Andy had 1 double fault the entire match, and even that call was shown to be good by ESPN shot spot) Congratulations Andy (Roddicktennisbabe) on winning the Bank of China Open-Hong Kong. Next UP: Coca Cola Tennis Masters Series: Sydney. (Tomorrow/maybe Tuesday as well) See you there. Please post articles/interviews/etc. to make this more interesting and to let me know that you are following the results. Thanks.
