Well played matched by both players for the most part. Lu had a 7-6 *4-2 40-30 lead in the second set, but could not capitalize. In the third set Lu made some ridiculous volleys to save BPs, but in the end Simon finally converted on his 5th BP chance in the 9th game of the 3rd set and served it out in style.

Congrats to Gilles.

urghhhh simon please wake up before you are on the brink of defeat next time! to lu's credit he played well, but gilles was pretty poor until deep in the 2nd set and deep in the 3rd set.

This is a disgusting result. Rendy was playing great. So sharp, serving well, hitting cripsly and offensively, dictating and going to net and hitting effective volleys. The match really changed when he missed an easy forehand cross-court after moving Simon out of position, at 5-*4 30-30 in the second set. Hit that in and he mad match point.

This match would have meant SO much more to Rendy given he's in Asia, he's had a bad year and needs the points plus this would have been one of the best players he's ever taken out. He was the more offensive and overall better player in all three sets until the end of them.
