Great win for Tennys. Won the first two sets by being patient and hitting with margin, started overhitting in sets 3 and 4, but went back to hitting with margin just in time in the last set.

Most ridiculous stat ever. He's now 4 for 6. If he goes 2 for 4 against top 10 players, he'd still be on this list even with 10 matches

Very likely the only player ever with a positive win percentage at slams against the top 10 (4-2) but not against players 11+ (8-8)

Sandgren has only made it past R1 of a slam 4 times previously, losing in R2, R3, R4, and QF one time each. Maybe an SF run this time?;)

Being a hard FH hitter + wind + literally Tennis personified across the net = rough day at the office for the Italian, especially when he himself is an over-ranked player who is expected to do better than what he's actually capable of at this point.

I did like the intelligent point construction in the last few games by Sandgren. The guy's a genuinely good tennis player wherever he's ranked at the moment.

Tennys has indeed got his moments, I have to agree. Unfortunately they are just moments here and there, no consistency.

Apparenyly he seems to have his moments mainly in GS'.

That was an insane statistics posted by @mike_g (thank you Mike). Never seen something quite like that from as low ranked player as Tennys is.

I still remember like yesterday how Tennys went on to beat one of my favourites, Dominic, at AO a few years ago (luckily Domi has made some slight adjustments to his game after that for it to better suit faster surfaces).

Matteo was also one of my favourites, but all the praise he got last year I guess hasn't sunk in that well and I think he's got to get his head clear first before he can win anything this year.
