The kid does it. He didn't have the most difficult draw, but even then; to be able to qualify at the age of 17 on a surface you didn't play that much says a lot.
Was already beat by the younger Alcaraz.Arguable. For me it's Musetti.
Well, the little i watched from him in challenger last year, i wouldn't say he is more exciting than Lorenzo Musetti, quite the opposite. Still to qualify at his age on an adverse surface needs to be applauded.Ugh. He IS the most exciting young prospect on tour by far. He hasn't been gifted tons of WC, that's all.
You mean that guy he actually beat in a challenger in his home country last year?Well, the little i watched from him in challenger last year, i wouldn't say he is more exciting than Lorenzo Musetti, quite the opposite. Still to qualify at his age on an adverse surface needs to be applauded.
That's not fair at all. Actually if i have time and find a decent stream i will check him out for his 1st round. I was just disagreeing that he is the most exciting young prospect.I got the feeling many in this forum will be inclined to hate on Alcaraz just because he's from the same place Rafael Nadal is. I already see some caging him in the claycourt specialist role. A shame really, been following the lad since he was 14 and his game couldn't have less to do with that of Rafa.
Look, two things:Was already beat by the younger Alcaraz.
Precisely Musetti was who I was referring to as far as WC. Carlos has been, umm, not that "lucky" in comparison, and he's still not that much behind him in the rankings while being a year younger.
1) Funny you mention that. It's probably you who doesn't like him all that much because of his nationality.Look, two things:
1) "Most exciting" is arbitrary anyway, for some Nadal is more exciting than Federer for others the other way round, so there's no point to argue about it. You may like Alcaraz more (probably because he's Spanish), I may like someone else. As they say: de gustibus non est disputandum.
2) At this age (17-18) it's impossible to know who will have a better career. We need to wait at least 5 years to have a better picture. I think they both will have great careers.
I actually like Carlos. Check my posting history if you don't believe. I never posted anything negative about him and usually praised him. Funny, isn't it? Don't make false assumption if you have no idea whom I like and not like.1) Funny you mention that. It's probably you who doesn't like him all that much because of his nationality.
2) Did I say Alcaraz will surely have a better career? What I said is he's objectively the most exciting / better project now. He's better at 17 than Musetti was. Heck, he's probably on par with him now while being younger. Which IT Is a big dal at that age.
