This is a fake smile as it gets, I don't really share his optimism, he hasn't owned up to his defeat, maybe with time he will learn more, this has been a humiliating experience for him.

Yep, Djokovic is not a bad fast hardcourt player at all, his failures at Cincinnati were well documented, but almost everytime suffered a defeat by the current best fast HC player there (except in 2013 when he lost to Isner), until finally he defeated Federer when the court was not that fast as it was 10-15 years earlier, but it still wasn't medium pace.First, Djoker benefited from slow hardcourts then he won French Open, and benefited from fast hardcourts.
This has reasons in not reaching each other in the draw and Nadal withdrawing too many times due to injury. This will be the mostly missed part of the Fedal rivalry and feels like a huge letdown that in 15-16 years no encounter took place, this is just so unlikely yet true.Meanwhile, Fedal didn’t play each other at the US Open
Thank heavens he isn't aware of that. Who knows what he would do out of desperation if he were. This is a fake smile as it gets, I don't really share his optimism, he hasn't owned up to his defeat, maybe with time he will learn more, this has been a humiliating experience for him.
If you rewatched it I reckon you should've also noticed that he (Daniil) was passively waiting behind the baseline for any Djoker short ball to step inside the baseline and attack like he normally does, but Djoker didn't give much of them and was playing very deep. In the presser he also said that Djoker didn't give him time like Nadal did in the US Open to rethink his gameplan and that the match felt for him like it was done in only 30 minutes. Djokovic taking all his time away with the way he played likely triggered Daniil to rush himself and his UE count rose because of that.rewatched the match and notice Medvedev didnt go to the net. His volley is his weakness for sure. He wins vs most atp players just from baseline but nd is another level here. His defence is his strong area. For Medvedev to defeat nd he needs to move to the net and decide the point with volley. Not every rally but alot of them.

The next gen have a greater capacity for accepting slam defeats than their other 4 predecessors. This is a fake smile as it gets, I don't really share his optimism, he hasn't owned up to his defeat, maybe with time he will learn more, this has been a humiliating experience for him.
5 Wimbledons isn’t too shabby for a “lucky hard court specialist”Hardovic is lucky hard court specialist get over it just like Nadal on clay. pretty sure Djokovic will pass Federer for grand slam titles by winning the AO every season and USO on top of all that. Must be nice having two hard court slams Nadal-federer only have one on their favourite surface.
20-18...poor Chokervic fansFirst, Djoker benefited from slow hardcourts then he won French Open, and benefited from fast hardcourts.
Meanwhile, Fedal didn’t play each other at the US Open and Nadal choked at the Aus Open. Poor Fedal fans.
maybe but the tactic was still stupidHe S&V to take out Wawrinka back in 19USO.
Tactics wouldn't matter as Novak was simple too strong.
nah some balls he refused to go to the net when he could, its more when nd slice the ball , Meddy should take it on air not let it bounce. He maybe have lost anyway but yet.If you rewatched it I reckon you should've also noticed that he (Daniil) was passively waiting behind the baseline for any Djoker short ball to step inside the baseline and attack like he normally does, but Djoker didn't give much of them and was playing very deep. Aside from that, what you said was true but that's very obvious to anyone who watches him play regularly to be frank. Daniil's volleygame is basically non-existent.
