Thx for that Bg

Malisse/Tursunov could go all the way that could be a great one for starters,

Baggy/Johnasson neither player will like that Thomas has been there and won this title before

Davy/Llodra could be the big upset from the first round

Unfortunately the UK books are unlikely to offer a competitive price, but in the event they do, Murray to make the final I might have a little dabble on.

I have him beating Davydenko in QF and Nadal in SF.

X-man and Dima will be a cracker.

Sure this will be priced up 5/6 the pair.

Kiefer vs ferrero will also be tight...will back the german here.

Wawa should be decent value to beat benny.

2 nice match ups for olivier rochus and magician also.

I wonder the price of Santoro vs Isner?

No way in hell is Santoro losing this. He eats these kind of players up for breakfast.

Can't believe Johansson won the title that year. He played Safin in the final that year I believe. He had such an incredibly easy run to the final though, seems like Murray had a tougher road winning Doha last week.

Ladbrokes.....for him to be eliminated in final pays 7.00 and for him to win pays 13.00......so if you do your maths...this comes up to about 4.55 for him to be a finalist

Poor odds

I have something in mind about Montanes, I cant understand why he is 2.5 against Alun Jones. He is playing decent in hard so I might take him

Pulled the trigger.

Outright Double
Roger Federer @ 8/11 & Justine Henin @ 6/4

Respective best players in the world. Federer has to be happy with his draw, he'll only meet one of Djokovic/Nalbandian if he meets either of them at all. Henin could only be matched by Serena and I don't see last year's champion making the final (I see her sister doing so, as it happens). Therefore, it's a standard choice for me and looking for the same French Open double (then the two best on clay Nadal/Henin, now the two best around in general Federer/Henin) to come to fruition in Melbourne.

Andy Murray Special
Andy Murray to be runner up @ 10/1

Saw some really shit odds around, including 5's at SJ! Would have liked a little better than 10's, but ultimately it's a price worthy of some interest. Effectively, I see at as 10/1 to beat Nadal in the Semis, as I'm fairly confident Murray will dispose of his opponents in the rounds before.

No tongue and cheek here but I expect the schedulers to do Murray a lot of favours over the next fortnight and give him a few prime time night session matches on RLA given there won't be any Aussies in the MD in the second week anyway. Works well from a TV audience point of view given it will be morning over in Europe as well.

That would be a huge advantage given how hot it is expected to be in Melbourne. Today before the sun rose it was already 30 degrees C

Lee doesn't have the matches under his belt at this stage otherwise I would be pounding the $2.20 you can get to beat Guccione. Still think it will be a very close match.

Santoro 1.56 to beat Isner.

Piling in.

Also why is Grosjean 1.28 to beat Volandri? Seems like free money unless I am missing something?

Yes,and I have another one:

Lopez to beat Odesnik is 1.40 in my bookie  :haha:

Feli with a good game and great form at the end of last season to beat some American journeyman.

Odesnik is good player, there isnt such thing as free money. Plus Feli is so weak in the mind that even against junior he will be 1.20

I have also noticed recently that odesnik isnt that bad...

More safer options

Dangerous outsiders in the women's event are Sania Mirza, Flavia Pannetta, Agnes Szvay, Dominika Cibulkova, Rezai,Golovin and Bammer.

But my super dog e/w will be Lindz Davenport to maybe make the final, on fire since her comeback.

I am gonna do a SPECIAL one off WTA Insight tommorow to highlight the threats in the women's draw.
