The WTA has already cancelled the Canada open. Would be very surprising if the ATP weren’t to follow them
Australia's international border is expected to stay closed until the end of the year or later. So if it's later that'll put an end to AO at it's usual spot in the calendar.

The ATP should just select a couple of countries with small infection numbers, and play a bunch of tournaments there, and Rome Masters already said they'd be willing to relocate, and many other tournaments can too.
The NBA has talked about playing all the playoffs in one location (Las Vegas), so tennis could do something similar.

Good news from Taiwan. Baseball, football and basketball leagues started (got restarted) today in front of "empty" stadiums.

Tennis is trickier with international travel involved, but it is doable with good organization and limited number of locations.
It is called an ATP tour .. they might as well organize a tour around several locations for the players.

Post confinement rumors in France are (to be maybe officialized this evening) :
No public gathering (sports culture restaurant pubs) until a vaccine can be found.
Certificate of immunity required to be able to travel the country (even for French people as Death rates are 80 out of 100.000 in Eastern part but only 3 out of 100.000 in Southern and Western parts).
That said those regulation in such a touristic country like France would mean 8 to 12 million unemployed people and blatantly some hard time to source money to organize any Pro Event in 2021.

So it looks like the FO's desperate and greedy grab for money did not only piss off the whole tennis community, but also has no effect whatsoever since the tournament still will be cancelled. Who would have thought.
Tennis is a sport that reIies on fewer spectators & Ieast contact than others so onIy umpires & few other personneI needed at the venue & if traveI were Iimited to pIayers & their teams who had been tested, then i don't see why u couIdn't have one ATP Masters near the GS to faciIitate the tour & Iimit traveI w/ strict protocoIs impIemented for aII invoIved at these tournaments.

Why so much butthurt man? The longer there isnt any tennis the worst its for Federer. Hes going to be 39 and with a long long wait it isnt good. While for Rafa this has been the longest he hasnt been injured in a long time.

No tennis is bad for everyone who is currently playing. But you don't have to be a math genius to see that with every tennis free day the chances of Federer keeping the Slam record is growing. Deal with it.
It remains to be seen how the balance of power will be after the break. Lots of time to work on weaknesses, which should benefit the younger players. But the truth is, like with this Pandemic, we just don't know what will happen in a couple of months.
ActuaIIy, doesn't really suck when u factor in that his worst GS, FO was up next & based on what happend Iast year after WB final coming into HC season & USO w/ a weakened shouIder means he 'hypotheticaIIy' couId arrive into next HC season or whatever they propose for it in 2020 in the best shape of his career in order to attain aII time HC majors record to cement his HC Iegacy so weeks at no.1 or undefeated streaks & the like could b compensated by this milestone. In Novak’s own words, "not too bad".
