Looks like this is a wide open event with 6 or 7 potential winners,Murray will be top seed but is he really the favourite here with no clay titles and quite a strong field for an atp 250 event with the likes of monfils, fognini and bautista agut all clay court specialists, predictions

Murray, probs. Fognini only seems to care when playing Nadal these days. Monfils might be tired and is prone to off periods. RBA isn't that good. Haas will be rusty, Tomic isn't much on clay. Path seems clear enough for Murray to win his first clay title despite his lack of ability on the surface.

He didn't actually say that. Read his comment again. It says, "...is Murray really the favourite with 0 clay court titles and XYZ clay courters in the draw (although that needed a question mark at the end)"

The draw isn't out yet, but the player list is out. I wonder though if Klizan will return here given he's had quite a run at Barcelona. Because right after Munich, you've got Madrid and Rome. He'll still play to defend his pts I assume, but not sure how much tennis is too much for him.

The trend started with Shenzhen and Vienna last year in his bid to enter the WTF.
Without those, he wouldn't have made it more likely.

That said he missed MC based on his wedding commitment so he wants so warmup before Madrid-Rome-RG.

Looks like you stopped reading before he [didn't] say it.

Murray is top seed, and a good draw might help him, but it's his first clay tournament of the year. It'll be interesting to see if he treats it as a warm-up and a chance to practice in his new clay shoes and try out some things he hasn't managed for a couple of years, or if the competitive spirit will take over and he'll push for the win.

Quite sad for Murray to be regarded as 2nd favourite at best in such a micky mouse tournament. Say's a lot about his clay abilities, I suppose.
