This match reminds me when Medvedev early career seemed more like a ballbasher at times and you don't know what Medvedev you will get -- it's insane that even if not seemingly exerting too much energy that he was able to still make these power shots.

Diego should retire.
The most disgraceful performance of his life, as good as a tank.
No passion, just utter disgrace from start to finish.

Some great stuff by the BS Russian, 5 6-3 sets and one 6-4 in the RR. A much better performance than his showing last year, so far he was brutal. Rafa is next, this is probably mads best chance(so far) to finally beat nadal.

Odds after today's matches:

Of course Djokovic's odds improved after he qualified. What's interesting is that Nadal's odds declined, while Medvedev and Thiem's odds remained unchanged. I wonder if this is partly because bettors think Nadal would struggle against Djokovic in a final and would have better chances against Thiem or Zverev (probably true).

U mean the way Tsitsipas was a no show vs Nadal.
Tsitsipas was yelling after winning big points and angry when losing big points, more fired up than anyone in the draw.
Diego was fired up when he played Nadal at Roland Garros, but was a zombie today.

Or maybe schwartzman isn’t such a Great Player to begin with. Making the finals was already a minor miracle. Next season he’ll be back to his normal level ranked between 20 and 30.

Two factors for Nadal here - Djokovic going through, obviously still the bookies favourite and has the advantage over Nadal on hard court. Also Medvedev looking good again.

Still think he’ll win it though.

Just what the doctor ordered here for Medvedev. He won easily without wasting much energy. Served well. Looked comfortable out there.

Poor Diego was just outclassed the entire tournament. Not unexpected, but gotta be a bit rough for him.

Medvedev in with a serious shot at the title. But Rafa won't just lie down, tomorrow is gonna be fun.
